I’m Bayley McKeown, a Southland-based photographer with a love for real people, raw light, and stories that don’t need polishing to be beautiful. I shoot what feels honest: the noise of live gigs, the quiet of end-of-life sessions, the warmth of a Southland sunrise. My goal is simple: capture moments that actually mean something.
I work full-time at Radio Southland, surrounded by storytellers, musicians, and community voices who fuel my creativity. Outside the station, you’ll find me shooting at the Southland Musicians Club, creating content for restaurants, cafes, and bars or working with local salons and beauty parlours to show the craft, confidence, and colour that make Southland shine.
I also volunteer with Hospice Southland, offering end-of-life photography for families who want to hold on to love in its purest form. And for weddings, I offer reduced pricing for couples tying the knot at The Cabbage Tree, because I believe everyone deserves their story told beautifully.
Photography, for me, is about connection. Real people. Real emotion. Real light.
When I’m not shooting, I’m usually surrounded by music, somewhere between a gig, a story, and home with my husband, Gearoid.
